Insurance for your studio
Your gear, covered.
Every monthly studio needs equipment insurance, from your own policy or a Safestor plan on your monthly bill.
Two ways to cover it
We don't insure the gear you keep in your studio, so the coverage comes from your own policy or from Safestor.
No added cost
Your own policy
Any policy that covers your gear while it's in your studio. Give us the insurer and policy number. Make sure it covers what you keep here.
Using renters or homeowners insurance? Ask your insurer:
- Does it cover my gear at a rehearsal studio?
- Is there a limit on instruments, or on things kept away from home?
- Does it still apply if I get paid to play?
From $8.95 a month
A Safestor plan
Storage insurance from Repwest Insurance Company, added to your monthly bill. $8.95 a month gets you $1,000 of coverage, and you'll see every plan when you add one. Coverage starts once it's paid, on your next bill.
Put it on file
Open your studio
Sign in, go to your account, and open your studio's reservation.
Choose Add
It’s on the Insurance line of your monthly bill. It says Edit if something is already on file.
Pick and confirm
Pick a Safestor plan, or “I have my own policy” and enter your insurer and policy number. Then choose Confirm change.
Changing it later
Once your studio is active, you can switch plans or move to your own policy any time. A new plan's price starts on your next bill.
What Safestor covers
Covered
- Loss or damage to your gear in your studio, up to your plan's amount
- Other people's gear you've taken responsibility for
- Theft where someone forced their way into your locked studio and left visible signs, or by violence or threat, with a police report
Not covered
- Gear that goes missing with no sign of a break-in
- Flood, surface water, sewer or drain backup, and groundwater
- Wear and tear, mold, humidity, dust, and temperature changes
- Recordings, files and other electronic data
- Cash, jewelry, art, collectibles, food and drinks
For a covered loss, Safestor pays the lowest of the gear's actual cash value, the cost to repair it, or the cost to replace it. This is a summary; the certificate controls. Read the full Safestor certificate (PDF).
